FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

STC Government Grant assists with installation costs for eligible households, there may be reduced or no upfront costs with installing solar: Households across Australia that install a small scale renewable energy system (solar, wind or hydro) or eligible hot water system may be able to receive a benefit under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) to help with the purchase cost. Sometimes referred to as a rebate program, installing an eligible system allows the creation of small-scale technology certificates (STCs), an electronic form of currency with a value that can be redeemed by selling or assigning them. Most households choose to assign their STCs to their installer or retailer for a discount on their system.

Solar Bonus Scheme (Feed in Tariff)

The Queensland Government Solar Bonus Scheme pays eligible households and other small customers for the surplus electricity generated from solar photovoltaic (PV) panel systems, which is exported to the Queensland electricity grid. Your retailer buys back your extra power and rates are always changing, but at around 8-10cents kWh. Some people may think that's a bad deal- WRONG! You pay around 29cents kWh, and today's solar systems are designed to power your house (during the day), with extra power helping with night use and/or sold back to your retailer.

You're never too old to own your own home, why not own your own power! It increases the value of your home, and saves you money in the meantime...not to mention the environment.
With the help of Government Grants and our Partners, we have payment options designed for everyone, which often means, you can use your solar energy savings to pay for your solar system!
Batteries have been around for years, and are viable in some homes, our Specialist can advise you on this. Most homes are best without them, so if you find yourself waiting for a lowest price think of the money you have wasted in the meantime. On grid solar has an average return on investment in 5 years-compare your return to simple bank interest.
Yes, it's true; most solar panels are made in China, in fact, most of everything is, even your iPhone! We have partnerships with Australian suppliers and can provide systems made in Australia on request, however, often the most reliable and affordable gear is from overseas. Rest assured all of our products have warranty services and offices in Australia.
Each property is different and pricing will depend on variables that may impact your quote for solar installation such as, your roof pitch, the number of house levels, house orientation, where panels can be installed, for example all panels on one side of the roof and/or if splitting the panels, inverter location, a complying meter box, and your property location. Our Consultant will provide a quotation that is tailored to you.
If you have a traditional accumulation meter (with a spinning disk) this will need to be replaced (at your cost) because the meter does not record the energy you export or import to the grid. New meters are provided by your electricity distributor, the cost is passed on to your electricity retailer, who in turn, will pass the cost on to you which will be charged on your electricity bill.
The solar industry in Australia is regulated by the Clean Energy Council. Solar panels and inverters must comply with the CEC standards that maximise safety, reliability and to be eligible for small-scale technology certificates (STCs). Into Green Energy only use CEC Accredited Installers.
The efficiency of solar panels decreases on cloudy days as less sunlight can pass through the clouds to reach your solar panels, maximum sunlight is necessary in order to provide optimal performance. When clouds block out the sun, your solar panels will still produce clean electricity; visible light still gets through rain and clouds.
